ABOUT

Hey, look - it's me.You have arrived, either by accident, chance, or fate, at cmpatrick.com, the digital playground of one Craig Michael Patrick, spawn of Sam and Elizabeth Patrick.

That’s me.

Born to a family of athletes, I quickly discovered I was, in fact, physically incapable of competing at sports with the possible exception of ping-pong which I continue to play to this very day with passing mediocrity. I graduated from Hamilton High School in the late 80′s, mildly traumatized by the public school system which seemed to work just fine for everyone else. I then attended Ohio University for two years, often referred to as ‘the missing years.’ I fondly recall Halloween in Athens, Ohio, but don’t recall why that is.

Concluding synaptic allergies to contemporary education, I shifted my attention to New Jersey and the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Arts, whose official title may not entertain the words ‘graphic arts,’ but you’ll agree that bit of prose certainly makes the school sound much more legitimate and accredited, which it is. It was during that time I encountered a whole phalanx of wonderfully creative and talented souls, some of which even speak to me now, albeit protected by the facade of various entertaining pseudonyms.

I owned a coke bottle, the cap, and a pencil. It was while attending the Kubert School that I first recognized my affection for communication in all its forms (except for Latin, which is a dead language, and most other forms of language that are not English with the exception of pieces of French I recall from my childhood, again without recalling why).

Upon graduating from the Kubert School, I returned to Hamilton, Ohio, only barely scraping together enough change to pay the New Jersey tolls. Afterwards, I created two children – a young lady named Alyx, and a young lad named Chance whose hair is incredibly interesting and excels at spelling obscure vernacular.

I currently live with my English Setter, Lucky, in Oxford, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati, somewhere between the corn fields and numerous Starbucks in southern Ohio, which is, in turn, located in northern North America, just south of Canada, yet north of South America.

I am, as you might imagine, geographically disinclined and only occasionally speak English. I do, however, enjoy using the word ‘balderdash’ whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Balderdash.

See?
