My name is Craig Michael Patrick.
I work in higher education as the Associate Director of Marketing and Communication for Enrollment Management and Student Success. I work at Miami University in lovely Oxford, Ohio. I spend my professional life thinking about words, images, audiences, and how messages land. It turns out that’s a hard habit to leave at the office.

Sundry and bespoken is a creative outlet and a running conversation with the world around me. I read widely, The New York Times, The New Yorker, NPR, and whatever else finds its way in front of me, and when something strikes a nerve, I write about it. Sometimes it’s media. Sometimes it’s capitalism, language, or the slow erosion of things we used to take for granted. Sometimes it’s about digging a hole in the backyard for a dog.
There’s no algorithm I’m feeding here. No brand to maintain. Just transforming thoughts into words.
